Public Safety Advisory: Controlled Water Release at the Jacopie Spillway has ended

September 27th, 2019

Nalcor Energy Churchill Falls is advising the public that the controlled water release at the Jacopie Spillway has ended.

We ask the public to continue avoiding the following areas as water levels may continue to fluctuate:

  • Jacopie Spillway upstream and down stream of the Spillway.
  • Whitefish Control Structure.
  • The Churchill River Walking Trail.
  • East and West Forebay water storage areas located north of the community of Churchill Falls.

We’d like to thank the public for their cooperation during the controlled release of water.

Safety is always our number one priority. The public should always use extreme caution around dykes, dams and spillways as water levels in these areas are always unpredictable.
