Nalcor Energy announces capital campaign support for the Labrador Wellness Centre

August 23, 2017, St. John’s, NL – Nalcor Energy today announced its support and commitment for the Labrador Wellness Centre, joining other corporate supporters as the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay kicked-off its Wellness Centre capital campaign in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador.

During the event, Nalcor announced an investment of one million dollars for the community initiative. This contribution over the next four years is an opportunity for the company to give back to the central Labrador community.

We have a long-running community investment program for communities in which we operate and where our employees live, and we want to ensure they reflect the priorities identified by members of the community to meet their needs today and for the future,” said John MacIsaac, Executive Vice President, Power Supply, Nalcor Energy. “We look forward to seeing this remarkable new facility become part of the local community.”

The capital campaign launch is for the first phase of the Labrador Wellness Centre. This phase will include a multi-purpose gymnasium, an aquatics centre with a competition swimming pool, a fitness centre with strength and conditioning equipment, an indoor walking/running track, community rooms and a childcare centre.
