As the face of Nalcor to energy markets outside the province, Nalcor Energy Marketing is responsible for marketing and trading the province’s surplus energy in markets across Canada and the United States.
Since 2009, Nalcor’s energy marketing operations have been focused on exporting surplus recapture electricity from Churchill Falls to markets beyond Quebec and planning its long-term structure.
Moving forward, the Energy Marketing team will continue to execute a strategy aimed at maximizing the value of the company’s existing and future assets, while positioning Newfoundland and Labrador for long-term energy marketing success. Revenues and market capacities will continue to grow strongly over the coming years with the development of the Lower Churchill Project. In addition, it is the long-term plan for Nalcor Energy Marketing to market the production from Nalcor’s offshore oil and gas interests to the global market.
