White Rose

In 2009, our Oil and Gas division finalized the purchase of a five per cent working interest in the White Rose Growth Project. This project includes the North Amethyst Field, West White Rose and South White Rose Extension.

Discovered in 1984, the White Rose offshore oil field is located in the Jeanne d'Arc Basin 350 km east of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The field consists of both oil and gas pools, including the South White Rose oil pool. The oil pool covers approximately 40 km2 and contains in excess of 300 million barrels (48 MM m3) of recoverable oil.

North Amethyst is the first satellite field development at Husky's White Rose project, and was brought on production less than four years after discovery in 2006. It is also the first subsea tieback project in Canada. Production from North Amethyst has rising to a peak of approximately 37,000 barrels of oil per day, with future wells planned for the coming years.
